Sandra
Office Manager/Administrator
Sandra joined the MySmile team as our office manager, she was born and raised in the Ottawa area and has been an active member with in her community.
Sandra spent several years working in the financial field, giving her a range of experience with different management and planning styles. She had a strong desire to pursue a career with in the health care profession. With this, Sandra studied at Career Canada College where she graduated as a Certified Dental Assistant with Honours in 1992. After several years as a dental assistant Sandra’s leadership skills steered her towards Practice Management. This enabled her to mentor dentists and there staff, guiding them in making decisions to improve their patient experience.
Her positive attitude and ability to think on a grand scale has allowed our office to grow, and our team to bond. Sandra ensures that our patients have an unforgettable dental visit, offering first-class customer service. In her leisure time, Sandra enjoys relaxing at the cottage, or traveling with her husband and two children.
Amanda
Certified Dental Assistant
Level II
It was as though I was born into the dental field. I grew up in Belleville Ontario where my mother worked at the dental practice owned by her and my father, who was a Dentist.
I had a successful seven-year career as an esthetician in both Belleville and Kanata. I loved my work at the spa but after moving to Kanata three years ago, I decided to pursue my real calling. I enrolled immediately at Everest College in Ottawa where I earned my certification as a Level II Dental Assistant. I graduated with honours in January 2010.
Shortly after graduating I was fortunate enough to join Dr. Kamel and the team at MySmile. A lot of my client care skills that I loved at the spa also carry over into dentistry and I thoroughly enjoy caring for people and enriching their wellbeing and health.
I am continually training to stay up-to-date on new treatments and procedures, so that I can offer our patients the best possible care. I am a member of the Ontario Dental Assistants Associaqtion and always strive to provide the most outstanding quality of care that we here at Dr.Kamel’s office stand by.
Chantal
New Patient and Hygiene Coordinator
Chantal developed an appreciation for dentistry at a young age when Mom & Dad invested in her orthodontic treatment, which gave her the confidence to smile. She studied English and Spanish at the University of Ottawa before pursuing her studies at Career Canada College, where she graduated as a Level I Dental Assistant with Honours in 1998. She worked in the insurance industry as a Dental/Medical Claims Adjudicator before returning to the dental office environment in 2003. Chantal joined the MySmile team in September 2009 as New Patient & Hygiene Coordinator. Dedicated to ensuring outstanding care for our patients, her effervescent personality has recently earned her the title of Internal Marketing Coordinator. In her spare time, Chantal enjoys traveling, running, and riding her motorcycle.
Kacia
Hygienist
Kacia attended La Cite collegiale where she graduated from the Dental Hygiene program with Honours. She also has a background in Practical Nursing and Dental Assisting. Kacia joined the MySmile team in October 2009 with five years experience as a Dental Hygienist. Committed to providing excellence in dental care, Kacia regularly attends continuing education courses to keep up to date with new dental technology and techniques. She earned a certificate in periodontal therapy from the JP Institute in Las Vegas. Kacia’s caring and sincere demeanor cause our patients to be at ease during their visits. She is dedicated to guiding them on making changes to their daily hygiene regimen, and is always looking for new ways to improve and provide quality care. Kacia is also a loyal Ottawa Senators fan, and enjoys spending time with her dogs, Amarouq, Teak and Knox.
Lisa
Treatment Coordinator
Lisa is our treatment coordinator and is the newest member to our team. Her experience allows her to address any questions or concerns you may have about any dental procedures. She was raised in Kanata and has been in the dental field for 13 years. She graduated from Algonquin College in 1998 from the Dental Assisting program. Lisa very much enjoys interacting with our patients and seeing they feel comfortable. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves staying active, snowboarding, boating, and wakeboarding when she can. Lisa is very happy to be a part of such a progressive and successful team.
