Hi Dr. Kamel,
One of the reasons why I’ve decided to go ahead and get braces is because I want to see a difference in my teeth during actual treatment process as opposed to waiting until the treatment is finished.
I figured that if I got Invisalign, my teeth would start to look straighter earlier, with the added benefit of not having brackets on my teeth. Right now I’m comparing Invisalign to some other types of clear or tooth-colored braces, and I’m wondering when someone would start seeing Invisalign results?
Thanks in Advance,
Invisalign is a great idea if you want to start seeing the benefits of straighter teeth while you’re still in the middle of your treatment! My patients love the fact that they’re able to feel more confident in public or at work before their orthodontic process is even complete.
How Quickly Will You See Results with Invisalign Braces?
One of the great benefits of Invisalign braces is the ability for us to digitally input your bite into the ClinCheck program before you even start treatment. First, I’ll use scanning equipment to record a 3D “impression” of your teeth.
Then, the computer replicates a virtual image of your smile that we can turn side to side to see what needs to be done. Next, I can actually use the software to pinpoint the precise movement, rotation, and alignment of your teeth.
Once your treatment is programmed, you can sit back and watch the computerized video actually showing your tooth movement and completed results before you even start wearing Invisalign. It’s pretty amazing!
Invisalign Results in as Quickly as Six Weeks
While we’re watching the computerized animation, you can see the various stages of treatment play out right before your eyes. This gives us a very good idea as to how your teeth will look after each of the 2-week intervals that the aligners are worn.
It’s not uncommon for my patients to see Invisalign results on their own teeth in as short as 6 weeks. Depending on the nature of your bite, the results may show up more quickly or take a bit more time to be obvious to the everyday eye. This is because your teeth need to be moved systematically.
We can’t always just push everything right where we want it – sometimes one tooth needs to be moved or rotated before we can address the one you’re really worried about.
Also keep in mind, that some of your teeth may move more quickly than others. If the tooth has a longer root or more space to move, the realignment process must be done very systematically to prevent any trauma to your smile.
Compared to Other Clear Braces
Invisalign is the leader when it comes to straightening your teeth with clear braces. Most of the competitors are modeled after the Invisalign system, or a variant of it.
If you want the quickest results from the most reliable method, then I would recommend choosing the system that has been around for well over a decade now. You can’t go wrong.
Know What to Expect with Invisalign Invisible Braces
Wearing your invisible braces as prescribed will give you predictable results in the timeframe that you can expect. Remember, leaving your aligners out for lengthy times throughout the day (like forgetting to put them back in after a meal) can allow your teeth to shift back out of place – meaning you would need to wear them longer than the usual two weeks. To get your teeth to move more quickly, wear your aligners at least 22 hours a day.
Misti, not only do Invisalign braces give you the added confidence of not having brackets and wires on your teeth – but your teeth can look straighter in as little as six weeks. Invisalign has perfected the clear braces process and works very quickly compared to other manufacturers.
If you’re able to come by for a consultation, we can record your smile’s 3D impression to see the expected tooth movement in our virtual planning software. That way you can visualize just how quickly you’ll be able to actually see Invisalign results from your treatment. You can’t go wrong! Call my office today to set up a quick visit. I look forward to meeting you!
