Root canals treatments are the most commonly referred to dental procedures among the general public. This treatment is usually carried out on a tooth that has a very deep cavity or decay.
Inside each healthy tooth’s hard outer shell, is a canal of nerves, blood and lymph vessels which extend to the bone. If a cracked tooth or one with a very deep cavity is not treated, it can become heavily infected, affecting the nerves, tissues, and blood supply around the tooth, and may eventually result in an abscess. This can manifest itself through sometimes severe, intolerable pain.

A root canal is a straightforward, single office procedure. Initially, Dr. Kamel will anesthetize the tooth, access the pulp, and clean out the canal. The canal is then filled, in order to prevent subsequent infections. A crown is then placed over the tooth. Dr. Kamel can complete a root canal in a single visit because of the on-site CEREC system, which is used to create the ceramic crown.
